Muzium TUDM Opened At Sungai Besi

The Muzium TUDM or RMAF Museum was officially opened to the public which coincided with the 27th anniversary of the formation of the Royal Malaysian Air Force by the Chief of Armed Forces Staff, Gen Tan Sri Ghazali bin Dato Mohd Seth. The Museum is located at Sungai Besi and opened daily to the public.
Proton was incorporated today

Proton, short for Perusahaan Otomobil Nasional (National Car Project), is a Malaysian car manufacturer initiated in 1983 by Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad. The main plant is located in Shah Alam. Malaysia's second Proton plant is in Tanjung Malim, Perak.
McDonald Opened At Bukit Bintang

McDonald's Malaysia opened its first restaurant at Jalan Bukit Bintang (Kuala Lumpur) by Tan Sri Vincent Tan Chee Yioun of Berjaya Group Bhd.
Malaysia Published Peta Baru

Malaysia published the Peta Baru (the New Map), which displayed and specified Malaysia’s territorial sea which labeled Pulau Batu Puteh (Pedra Branca) as Malaysian territory. Pulau Batu Puteh is a good 25 nautical miles from Singapore, and only 7.7 nautical miles from Johor. The new map which extended its territorial sea limit to 12 miles (19km) from its coast.
Japan Airlines DC-8 Crashed
Tuesday, 27th September 1977
Japan Airlines JAL Flight 715, a DC-8, crashed into a hill in bad weather while attempting to land at the Kuala Lumpur Subang Airport. 34 people, including 8 of the 10 crew members and 26 of the 69 passengers, were killed when the aircraft broke on impact.
Japanese Red Army Attack Embassies

The Japanese Red Army raided a building in Kuala Lumpur that housed US, Swedish, Japanese and Canadian embassies. 52 hostages were exchanged for Red Army members.
Boat People Arrived

PETRONAS The Malaysia's National Oil Company

Incorporation of PETRONAS. Parliament passed the Petroleum Development Act, vesting in PETRONAS the ownership and control of Malaysia’s petroleum resources. The establishment of PETRONAS by the Malaysian government was part of a wave of nationalistic oil legislation that swept the Southeast Asia region in the 1970's era. It followed the example of Pertamina, the Indonesian state oil company, to replace standard concession (previously awarded to foreigners) contracts with more lucrative production sharing schemes.
Tun Abdul Razak Visit Singapore

Prime Minister Tun Abdul Razak and his wife Toh Puan Rahah had a cordial welcome by Singapore when they flew in today for a three-day official visit. They were met on arrival at Singapore's Paya Lebar Airport by Singapore Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew and Mrs Lee, Cabinet ministers and members of the diplomatic corps. This was the first official visit of a Malaysian Prime Minister to Singapore since the Republic became independent in August 1965.
Tun Abdul Razak Became Prime Minister

Tun Abdul Razak (1922-1976) became Malaysia’s 2nd prime minister ruling from 1970 to 1976. Tun Razak was the Prime Minister responsible in setting up Barisan Nasional, which is the ruling coalition of political parties. After the May 13 Incident in 1969, Tun Abdul Razak's faction in UMNO overthrew Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra and imposed a State of Emergency, ruling by decree until 1970.
